One Boring Day
Boredom may lead you to anything. As for myself, boredom is the reason why these paper flowers were made. Hope these looks like flowers too you.

Amazing Pinya
I went to the market to buy some fruits last night. And oh my gulay! Look what I have found? A pineapple with many crowns.. 25 to be exact.
The vendor, Manay Anding refused to have it sold so I just took a picture of it.
Isn't that amazing! Pwede na pang Guiness! ♥♥♥

All That I Am
Love me true and it will lift the drawn
curtains of my sad and lonely past.
Dispel my doubts and fears
and I'll let you peer through
the dark shadows of my life.
When you know me well
and still you love me true,
Then I'll give you all that I am.

My Song: Kung Tayo ay Matanda Na
Kung tayo ay matanda na
Sana'y di tayo magbago
Kailan man, nasaan ma'y
Ito ang pangarap ko...
Makuha mo pa kayang
Ako'y hagkan at yakapin, hmm
Hanggang pagtanda natin
Nagtatanong lang sa 'yo
Ako pa kaya'y ibigin mo
Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko...
Pagdating ng araw
Ang 'yong buhok ay puputi na rin
Sabay tayong mangangarap
Nang nakaraan sa 'tin...
Ang nakalipas ay ibabalik natin, hmm
Ipapaalala ko sa 'yo ang aking pangako
Na ang pag-ibig ko'y laging sa 'yo
Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko...
hmmmm!
Sana'y di tayo magbago
Kailan man, nasaan ma'y
Ito ang pangarap ko...
Makuha mo pa kayang
Ako'y hagkan at yakapin, hmm
Hanggang pagtanda natin
Nagtatanong lang sa 'yo
Ako pa kaya'y ibigin mo
Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko...
Pagdating ng araw
Ang 'yong buhok ay puputi na rin
Sabay tayong mangangarap
Nang nakaraan sa 'tin...
Ang nakalipas ay ibabalik natin, hmm

Na ang pag-ibig ko'y laging sa 'yo
Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko...

My girlfriends and I had a nice dinner at Desny Grill last night. Their pork sisig and mixed vegetables dish are two of my favorites.

Children Learn What They Live
If children live with criticism,
They learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility,
If children live with hostility,
They learn to fight.
If children live with fear,
If children live with fear,
They learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity,
If children live with pity,
They learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule,
If children live with ridicule,
They learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy,
If children live with jealousy,
They learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame,
If children live with shame,
They learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement,
If children live with encouragement,
They learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance,
If children live with tolerance,
They learn patience.
If children live with praise,
If children live with praise,
They learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance,
If children live with acceptance,
They learn to love.
If children live with approval,
If children live with approval,
They learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition,
If children live with recognition,
They learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing,
If children live with sharing,
They learn generosity.
If children live with honesty,
If children live with honesty,
They learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness,
If children live with fairness,
They learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration,
If children live with kindness and consideration,
They learn respect.
If children live with security,
If children live with security,
They learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness,
If children live with friendliness,
They learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

I HELP out in a
community outreach program somewhere in a barangay in our City. We
give tutorial lessons to Grade 1 pupils who at 6 years old,
nonetheless, could not read a basic “katinig.”
The regular teacher who
is in charge of these particular non-readers takes it upon herself to
justify the “slowness” of these kids who do not make the cut, so to
speak. Maybe because she thinks it will reveal something about her
competence.
She gripes noisily
about one specific pupil. She said that she has to make this kid
stand in a corner most of the time because of his unruly behavior in
class. Moreover, his reading skills (and other life skills as well,
she seemed to insinuate) could not be improved on since it is obvious
that he is not helped out at home. She thinks she is unfairly saddled
with the task.
Afraid to embarrass the
teacher if I point out my unease right away, I discreetly held a
finger in front of lips to shush her.
Later, I was filled
with remorse since it appeared that I was more concerned of a
grown-up’s feelings than his. Why was I more sensitive of the needs of
someone who can very well take care of herself?
The little boy
nonchalantly resumed his antics. Perhaps he built a thick wall of
indifference around him. After all, he is puny and powerless and don’t
adults have the last word?
What could be going
through the mind of a six- year-old who is ignored at home, and when
turned over to another adult, pronounce such a conviction? How can
someone so young learn how to believe in himself?
Another time, the
teacher commented that she really did not want to be an educator in the
first place, but as a wife and a mother, the job is the most practical
since it will allow her to come to her family after work. The bright
side, she concluded, is that she is now able to stand kids with
snot-filled noses - a development which she thinks is remarkable for
someone who is grossed-out by such, she implied.
This remark was uttered
within hearing distance of everyone especially that of the hapless
kid’s and others with the same grooming habits.
Most of us who were
just as young once, could attest that these comments hurt. Deeply.
Traumatizing in fact, as we learn that we have been written off.
Written off as someone who may not amount to anything, perhaps? No
wonder, the kid was extra- pikon when taunted by classmates. (The
classmates were simply following the teacher’s example.)
Later,
I was browsing through some tattered textbooks used by the class.
Good manners and right conduct were integrated in lessons in English,
Filipino, and Sibika, among others. The lessons stressed the
importance of respect for others, our elders, specifically for oneself. And yes, I think the lessons were lost on that little boy with snot dripping from his nose.
The one who could hardly read.

Inside of Me
All darkness in here
Can't see my heart
All pain in here
Can't hear my soul
Groping and feeling
Looking and finding
Love has abandoned
Songs are forgotten
Breathing is not to live
Remembering is to forget.
Empty, empty...
Laugh is hollow
Sighing is wishing for death
Speaking is not talking
Dreaming nothing but nightmare
Hunger and thirst.
Food and water evade.
Tears insult me
Fear hugs
Hate crawls
Hell dwells

The Roads of Life
Life has run smooth for the lucky,
Roads were paved with glittering gold.
But for many it has been thorny,
Rocks and mud littered the road.
The life I knew had its twists and turns,
The challenges so numerous, one could drown
In its swirling depths that never ends,
But for the faith I have and some strength.
If only each one knew how to deal with life,
There never would be sorrow to grow and thrive.
But that would be wishing for a new world to live,
A world so rosy, peaceful, joyous and alive.
If life does not run the way we want it,
No one is to blame, just live and let live.
For life in this troubled world can be so short,

Tinagba Festival 2012
Tinagba Festival is held annually from February 5 - 12 in the City of Iriga. Tinagba means "season's first harvest". And it coincides with the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Farmers parade in carabao-drawn carts filled with the best of local produce, these are blessed at mass and are distributed to the needy.
But this year's Festival was more grandest than the previous years. Because it showcases the different festivals of the Bicol Region depicting the richness, colors, pageantry, temperament and the diversities of the Bikolano Culture.
Tinagba Festival is derived from the early rituals of the ancient Bicolanos of offering their first harvest to their own gods as a form of thanksgiving and to seek favor for a more bountiful harvest throughout the year. This tradition dates back to even before the coming of the Spaniards.

A New Year. A New Beginning
Can you believe that another year had gone! Every year I can't believe how fast time flies. I always looked back and reflect on what I have accomplished throughout last year. And what I am going to do this year. I love to reflect on how things had changed and how things worked out in my life.
The past year had been very amazing for me, Of course, it has had it's ups and downs, but I won't focus on the downs because they are gone and buried.I am moving forward and moving fast. It seems life is speeding up the older I get.
Last year, I wrote down goals that I wanted to accomplished for myself and I have achieved several of them. To begin this year I will be thinking about what I hope to accomplish in it. Somehow I have a feeling my goals are going to be surpassed by the reality I will create.
Look back, but most importantly look forward. Dream BIG! You can do whatever you put your mind to. Just have faith to yourself.
Happy New Year Everyone!
