Of Age and Marriage

Of Age and Marriage

When I chanced to meet long-missed friends and acquaintances, they’re usual questions to me were: “Where’s your husband?” How many children do you have?” I found it funny that when every time I answered “None, I ‘m still single.” They would look at me like I am from another planet or that being unmarried at the age of thirty seven is a heinous crime.

The bad side of advancing in years and still remaining single is you worry a lot of people. The worse side is you acquire a lot of matchmakers to worry about. Even though I told them several times to but off, my matchmakers never failed to introduce me to almost eligible bachelors they know. They told me that I should be married at my age and having children. Those matchmakers, some of them were my aunts, who have but good intentions – to get me down the aisle while my step can match the tunes of the latest wedding ballads and gave me the same old arguments that my body clock is ticking very fast now that I might not conceive a baby anymore.

There were times that I find it very annoying everytime they do it especially when I was completely off-guard. In every occasions they never failed to introduced me to a new guy and it pisses me off when they forced me to have a relationships to those guys they introduced me to as if it’s just so easy. They haven’t realized that being in a force relationship is very wrong and rushing into marriage and is like calling for a huge disaster in the future.

Being single has its ups and downs but I am happy right now. If the time comes that there’ someone who comes along, why not? Marriage for me is not about being late. It’s about being ready for what lies ahead.

Is The Food You Eat Safe?

Healthy Food
In today’s highly competitive food industry, attractiveness, taste, economy and profitability are all special factors for a financial success. Additives, preservatives and artificial flavoring can contribute for the gain of the listed factors.

Nowadays, as a consumer we are all prompted to unsound nutrition claims for almost all kinds of media such as radio, newspapers, magazines and even high billboards across highways as well as other media commercials.

Come to think of it, most of the products that are advertised are processed foods. And if you take time to read the labels, you will noticed that most of them, if not all have some chemical additives or preservatives. While others, are synthetically produced. Even non-processed foods like fruits and vegetables are often treated with chemicals to preserve from spoilage.

Colas, chips, and even health drinks which according to some advertisers have “nutritive value”, do not even ft into the food group. It is because they are collectively called junk foods. Fruit shakes and crunchers enhanced by food coloring are also considered as junk foods.

There are also some bogus “health product” that is aid to boost energy, increase strength and endurance, and improve memories. But clearly, these are junk foods that mean to be regulated by the government.

So, is the food you’re eating right now is safe to eat?
